• How do I know if I’m a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing?

  Laser skin resurfacing works on many skin types, including very light & very dark skin. Different resurfacing options can knock out the deepest wrinkles, improve the most challenging scars, & help correct a wide variety of other skin imperfections. Your provider will discuss treatment options with you. 

• How does it work?

  Fractional skin resurfacing uses laser energy microbeams that extend through the top layer of skin tissue, into the deep dermal layer of the skin, stimulating collagen & promoting cellular growth. The body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in healthier, younger skin.

• What can I expect and how quickly will I recover?

  Most people feel minimal discomfort during and after the treatment. In many cases, your provider will apply topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment to minimize any potential discomfort. You can expect to experience minor side effects, including temporary redness, warmth, and swelling at the treatment area, which typically lasts only a few days. Normally you can resume your regular activities the day of treatment; more aggressive procedures require several days of healing. Your provider will discuss your post-treatment expectations based on your custom skin care treatment plan.
